It's better to lose your pride to someone you love,
than to lose your love because of your pride.
Be a friend of thousands, be a lover of one.
Never let go of the one who truly loves you

Only love and death will change all things
My house says to me, "Do not leave me, for here dwells your past."
And the road says to me, "Come and follow me, for I am your future."
And I say to both my house and the road, "I have no past, nor have I a future. If I stay here, there is a going in my staying; and if I go there is a staying in my going. Only love and death will change all things."
Khalil Gibran - Sand and Foam

All else has long been forgotten by me
ONCE I pass'd through a populous city, imprinting my brain, for
future use, with its shows, architecture, customs, and
traditions;
Yet now, of all that city, I remember only a woman I casually met
there, who detain'd me for love of me;
Day by day and night by night we were together,—All else has long
been forgotten by me;
I remember, I say, only that woman who passionately clung to me;
Again we wander—we love—we separate again;
Again she holds me by the hand—I must not go!
I see her close beside me, with silent lips, sad and tremulous.

Can miles truly separate you from friends?
Can miles truly separate you from friends... If you want to be with someone you love, aren't you already there?

Your absence has not taught me to be alone, it merely has shown that when together we cast a single shadow on the wall

All those who suffer in the world do so because of their desire for their own happiness
All those who suffer in the world do so because of their desire for their own happiness. All those happy in the world are so because of their desire for happiness for their happiness of others.

And be on thy guard, also, against the assaults of thy love! Too readily doth the recluse reach his hand to any one who meeteth him.
Nietzsche, Thus Spake Zarathustra

We are never so defenseless against suffering as when we are in love
We are never so defenseless against suffering as when we love, never so forlornly unhappy as when we have lost our love object or its love.

What is the energy of compassion?
Now we shouldn’t see compassion as some romantic concept, but ask ourselves: “What is the energy of compassion?“ In order to answer that you first have to ask yourself: What is the basic principle of thinking, of the mind? It is black-white, either-or, me or you. For compassion we just have to change one word: me AND you. That is the process of compassion. Whenever there’s “me and you”, there’s a state of stillness. Stillness is not the absence of noise; stillness is the process of you and me at the same time. Not forgetting me, and not forgetting you either, nothing else. And then I ask you: if you look at the world, if you look at your life, is there even one reason for not having the connection “me and you” every day, with everyone? There is absolutely no reason. When you see that, in that compassion automatically you’ll have the chain of feelings, the out-of-body consciousness, modern meditation and the inner state of stillness. That is all you need in this life.
